Review: Secret Invasion: Front Line
Review: Secret Invasion: Front Line |
Posted: I am no fan of this Secret Invasion marketing strategy adopted by Marvel for many of their titles. Basically a Skrull invasion of the Marvel universe, it is a cataclysmic event affecting all superhero titles. This book is not one of them. It appears to be a summary title of the event, and told from Ben Urich's (the ex-Daily Bugle reporter) point of view. Who is Ben Urich? Well, he is the confidante of Daredevil, and also Spiderman. The decent reporter to the scheming Jonah Jameson character. Who is Jonah Jameson? Well, if you don't know, you should not be reading this comic as it is about very ordinary background characters who populate the Marvel Universe and who don't have superhero titles of their own. Anyway, JJ is not in this book. Surprisingly, this comic is tolerable on its own. People are running away from human chomping skrulls and there are a few splash pages with the obligatory superheroes versus Skrulls brawl now and then to remind the reader that this is a Marvel cataclysmic event. The drawings are not very interesting and I rate this book a 2.5 |
